Silvana Arias - born on April 7, 1977 in Lima, Peru - was drawn into acting by her father, Nelson Arias, a classic theatre actor in his native country. Fluent in English, Spanish and Portuguese, she graduated from a fashion design college in Lima and still studies clothing designing between acting gigs. She made a smooth transition to acting as Susan Peria in the Peruvian TV series Maria Emilia: Querida followed by Porbre diabla and Soledad.
As Silvana's career took off, her family relocated to Miami, Florida, and enabled her to play Jimena Arismendi in the 2002 telenova Gata salvaje. In 2003, she starred in Armo descarado and on an episode of Karen Sisco. When Passions came a-knocking, Arias finally made the move to Hollywood, her new permanent home.
